Instruction for the Seidel/Weisbrod Cabin
Cabin Arrival
Opening the Door
To open the front door, press the SCHLAGE button, then enter the code.
To lock the door, just press the SCHLAGE button.
If you don’t have the code, you can use the key.

Turning on the Water (in Winter)
If it’s Fall or Winter, the water to the house might be off. Follow these instructions
I) Close TWO hose bibs: One on the walkway by the front door. The other outside downstairs.


II) Close all the faucets
- Each bathroom (2 upstairs, one downstairs),
- Faucets
- Bath/shower
- Kitchen sink
- downstairs bar
III) Turn on main water
- Outside, under yellow box, turn red handle counterclockwise all the way.
- Water will run for a while as the pipes fill, but it should stop soon.



IV) Double check kitchen, bathrooms and hose bibs to make sure no water is running.
V) Turn on Water Heater downstairs

Cabin Shutdown
General Shutdown Checklist
I) Make all beds with clean sheets and wash and dry any used sheets and towels and replace in the linen closets.
II) Power
- Make sure two TVs and any other electronics are off
- Check all lights
III) Close drapes and blinds
IV) Garage
- Lights off
- Door (to left) should be locked
- Main doors closed
V) Close fireplace and lock shut (right handle up then down). You must remove screen to close fireplace.
VI) Remove ALL garbage and recycling and take it with you (bathrooms, kitchen, etc)
VII) Clean perishables out of refrigerator
VIII) Make sure doors and windows locked
- Check all windows
- Lock downstairs door by twisting bar in middle of handle clockwise
- Check kitchen door by hand (bar in middle of door handle will be horizontal if locked)
- Lock front door on your way out
Cabin Winter Shutdown Checklist
I) Do everything on General Checklist
II) Turn off Water
- Outside, under yellow box, turn red handle clockwise until water is off
- Outside downstairs back (near window to lower bedroom), open hose bib
- In each bathroom (2 upstairs, one downstairs), kitchen and downstairs bar
- Open sink faucets (don’t forget kitchen, pull to middle so you get hot and cold)
- Open shower faucets (downstairs pull)
- Flush toilets
- Put 1 ounce of antifreeze in each drain
- Put 1 ounce of antifreeze in toilet bowl
- Put 1 ounce of antifreeze in toilet tank (have to take off the lid)
- (don’t forget downstairs bar)
III) Turn off water heater
- Breaker box is downstairs near the bar
- There are two breakers labeled W/H for water heater
- Turn them off (opposite position as other switches)
IV) Turn off heat (7 places): Kitchen, entrance hall, 3 bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom downstairs, pool room
IV) Make sure wood outside kitchen door is covered
